Mindi is easy to learn and is also known as Dahar games or Hukam in India. It can be played in different modes, including 1 deck mode, 2 deck mode, 3 deck mode, and 4 deck mode. Each mode has two sub-modes: "Katte Mode" and "Hide Mode." In Hide Mode, the player to the dealer's left selects a card as the trump suit, while in Katte Mode, any player can declare the trump suit.

The game follows clockwise play, and the dealer is chosen by dealing a random card. Each player receives 13 cards, and the player to the dealer's left leads the first trick. The winner of each trick leads to the next. The main objective is to collect the maximum number of Medi (Dehla). The declaration of trump depends on the mode of the game.
